Chapters Honor All Gun Violence Victims at One-Year Anniversary of Virginia Tech Massacre
Virginia Tech victims and Brady staff invite you to take action: close the gun show loophole!
In April 2008, we honored the victims and survivors of gun violence on the one-year anniversary of the Viginia Tech tradegy.
The Brady Campaign, its Million Mom March Chapters, numerous community allies, and activists joined together with victims and survivors of gun violence to remember the 32 innocent lives that were lost at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007, and the 100,000 people who are killed or injured every year in America with guns.
As we remembered all gun violence victims, we also urged
Congress to close the gun show loophole, and take other
common sense steps to fight gun violence.
Commemorative events were held in more than 70 cities and towns across America.
Leaders from the Million Mom March Chapters of the Brady Campaign gathered in Washington, D.C. for four days in April. Chapter leaders lobbied their legislators on Capitol Hill, networked, welcomed new members, learned new skills, and wound up re-energized for the battles ahead.
